Tim DeKay is an American actor. He portrayed Martin Toomey in the 2000 film The Crow: Salvation.

Early Life[]

Timothy Robert DeKay was born on June 12, 1963 in Lansing, New York to Jim DeKay and Jill Vaughn. Tim and his brother Jamey grew up in Lansing. Tim grew up playing a variety of sports such as basketball and baseball. In high school, Tim performed in his school’s production of Oliver. Tim attended Le Moyne College and studied business and philosophy, but he eventually decided to pursue a career in theater. Tim attended Syracuse University where he took a few courses in directing and he attended Rutgers University were he received a Master of Fine Arts.

Career[]

Tim started off his career performing in plays both on and off Broadway including plays such as Ridiculous Fraud, Billy Budd, Someone To Watch Over Me, The Merchant of Venice and The Lion In Winter. He directed and produced a short film, This Monday in 2009. The film was included in several short film festivals including Cannes Short Film Corner and The Palm Springs International Short Film Festival.

Tim’s first on screen acting role was as corporation head, Larry Deon on seaQuest 2032. In the mid to late 1990s to early 2000’s, Tim was a cast member of Party of Five, Carnivàle and Tell Me You Love Me. Tim appeared in two episodes of Seinfeld, “The Soul Mate” and “The  Bizarro Jerry” as Elaine’s boyfriend Kevin. Tim had a number of guest appearances on shows including Friends, CSI, My Name is Earl, NCIS, Scrubs and Chuck. In the year 2000, Tim portrayed the antagonist Martin Toomey in the film The Crow: Salvation.

In 2009, Tim began starring in the USA network comedy drama White Collar as FBI agent Peter Burke. He directed the episode “Stealing Home” which premiered in 2012. More recently Tim played Duval Pritchard in the 2016 sci-fi drama series Second Chance.

Tim is a member of the Actors Studio, and he has taught as a professor at the University of Southern California.

Personal Life[]

Tim met his wife Elisa Taylor while attending Rutgers University. The two married in 1991 and they have two children Danna and Jamis.
