Sofia’s debut album was released in 1992 by Warner Bros. Records. She co wrote every song and worked with a variety of producers and remixers such as Steve Peck, Daniel Abraham, Mitch Kaplan, Mark “MK” Kinchen, Ben Grosse and Boris Granich. Her first single The Message reached #20 on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play chart and it peaked at #75 on the Billboard Hot 100. Sofia’s second single, One Last Kiss didn’t chart in the United States but was a minor hit in Canada. Her last single State of Mind peaked at #16 on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play chart. She received a Juno Award nomination for most promising female vocalist at the 1993 Juno Awards. She left the music business to pursue a career as an actor and director and has not released another album since.
Sofia made her acting debut as Shelly Webster in the 1994 film adaptation of James O’Barr’s comic book The Crow. That same year she played Broken Legs Max in the film Terminal Velocity. Some of her other films include Hourglass and Dilemma. She was a director for the 2015 film My Stepdaughter. She was a student in USC School of Cinema- Television and she directed the film Spring Eternal as a thesis project.
Sofia is an animal rights activist and she has four cats and a dog. She also supports welfare and conservation organizations that are dedicated to helping endanger species. Sofia also dated Dr. Jordan Schaul.
